About This Role

We're looking for a full-stack developer to complete a travel booking platform built with Next.js and Node.js.

Our client has a travel booking platform project (similar to Booking.com) that was paused when the previous developer became unavailable. The platform uses Next.js, Node.js/Express, MongoDB, and Chakra UI, with some core features like authentication, property listings, and search already partially developed. Our client needs a developer to assess the current state, clarify what's complete versus incomplete, and finish the remaining work to deliver a functional travel booking platform.

Responsibilities

• Audit the existing codebase to determine which features are complete and which require additional work
• Complete remaining development on the travel booking platform across frontend and backend
• Implement or refine core features including authentication, property listings, search functionality, and booking flows
• Ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to the existing tech stack standards
• Communicate progress and blockers clearly with our client throughout development
• Test functionality thoroughly and fix bugs before delivery

Qualifications

• Proven experience building full-stack applications with Next.js and Node.js/Express
• Demonstrated proficiency with MongoDB and modern database design
• Portfolio or case studies showing completed web applications or platforms
• Experience with Chakra UI or similar component libraries
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of project completion
• Strong communication skills and reliability in meeting commitments
